The strange world of blogging

When I started this little blog 4 years ago, I had I no idea where it would take me. I started it with the hope that one or two people may read it. And maybe if I was really lucky then someone who needed encouragement might find some kind of comfort in my misadventures.

Flash forward a few years, and a lot has happened since I published my first post. Certainly more than I ever expected.

But one of the most amazing and expected things that has come from this little blog, has been the friendships it has built.

I have "met" (both online and IRL) some truly amazing people. This little community has supported me, cheered for me, questioned me, pushed me, and picked me up. The connections I have made and the friendships I have built is what has kept me writing. People often ask me why I am so open and transparent online. And it is because of the relationships that type of honesty has created that pushes me to share.

This weekend is the perfect example of this strange and wonderful world.

Truly Jess is getting married.

And I am going to stand beside her while she says her "I Do's".

We met at the beginning of my blogging adventure, at a blogger-meet-up scheduled by Morgan (aka Wildly Fit). We have run races together. We have cheered each other on as we both strived for different things. She was there for me when I was recovering from surgeries and when I lost my Dad.

And Saturday I get to be there for her, on one of the most important days of her life.

I would have never guessed that blogging could have brought such amazing people into my life. But it is one of the things I am most grateful for.
