It is good to be home again. It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks. And I am embarrassed to admit that I basically slept ALL of Sunday - literally. I had 2 naps and I went to be bed at 8:30pm. The travel from the last week or so really took it out of me. And by Sunday I was just done. Sleep and PJs were the only things on my to-do list.
I spent the last couple days catching up on paper work and getting all of my last minute things done for Truly Jess's Wedding this weekend. I got my shoes, I picked up my dress after alterations, and my nails are done. I am starting to feel organized again!
I actually really like travel. But after 2 back-to-back trips I was starting to get homesick. I may have burst into tears at the airport when they informed me my flight home was cancelled and I could leave until the next day. Luckily after wandering around La Guardia for 2 hours I stumbled upon one last flight out to Toronto. West Jet literally made my day and got me on the flight. If their Christmas Ads weren't enough of a reason to love them, I am officially a huge West Jet fan now.
After 9 days away and constantly eating out, the biggest thing I am craving is my boring old routine. I start to miss my homemade scrambled eggs, my protein shakes, and my familiar running routes. It is nice to be back into the swing of things again.
And for me Protein Shakes have been a staple lately. There is just something about this humid weather that makes me crave them. I came up with this Canadian Twist on Vega-One before I left and I have been reaching for it ever since.
1 scoop Vanilla Vega One
1/2 tbsp. of Canadian Maple Syrup
1/2 cup Almond Milk
1/2 cup water
Handful of frozen berry + banana mix
Just blend and garnish with a Canadian Flag and you are ready to enjoy!
