61km for 61 years

Today is a sad day. Today is a hard day. And as I sit here typing these words there are already tears in my eyes. Today, like everyday, I very much miss my Dad. Today should have been his 61st birthday, but we lost him too soon.

For me a physical expression of strength helps remind me of the power my spirit possesses. So when I feel weak I look for a physical reminder that I am I am strong enough to endure this. That is what today is.

Today I will honour the year that should have been by covering 61kms.
1km Swim
55km Bike
5km Run

I am asking you to join me for the Run. I am asking you to run/walk/hike/bike/move for 5km today (or any time this week) and dedicate it to the Happy Heart Project. Everyone is Welcome! I warn you in advance I will likely be a hot mess of emotions and exhaustion - so tears will likely be shed, but as long as you don't mind, company is welcome.

Hope you will all come run with me.
