Hi Friends.
I am home. I am well. And Surgery #6 is in the bag.
Friday was relatively uneventful as far as surgeries go. There was a whole lot of waiting around. My OR time was delayed, so we waited around some more. And then I rolled off to the meet up with my entourage of surgeons relatively relaxed and cracking jokes.
I drifted off telling them "To bring their A-game. Because I wasn't coming back." "No more surgeries", I shouted into my oxygen mask as I drifted off into a drug induced sleep.
I woke up an hour and half later, feeling woozy but pretty good compared to the last time. I spent the rest of Friday being poked and prodded, checked and tested, and to be honest also being very very stoned on pain meds.
Because I was feeling good and I loathe spending the night at the hospital - the team agreed as long as my pain was under control I could go home that day. So home is where I went and where I have been for the last few days. And life has been pretty uneventful since. I have been sleeping, nursing my sore tummy, watching a lot of Food Network, and snuggling with my puppy Clark and amazing hubby Jamie.
I have been forbidden from doing much for the next 4 weeks, so there will just be a whole lot of resting, reading, and convalescing happening up in here. But don't worry, I will be up and running again before you know it!
Love your Favourite Darwinian Fail,
Krysten
