My Inaugural Post-Op Run

Getting Ready to Tackle these Trails

I did it!
I tackled my very first post-op run. It was a humbling and horrible 3 km (1.75 miles). Everything is tight and sore. My chest ached the whole time. My legs feel weak and my muscles are like jelly. My endurance - that I worked so hard to build up - is shot. And I huffed and puffed the entire run....

But DAMN it felt good to be back out there!

Happy Runner

Breaking in my new Badass sneaks!

It is hard to start over. And today was probably the toughest 3 km of my life - as much mentally as physically. But I am trying to remember...

I don't want to think about the 6 weeks of training I have lost, or the strength and endurance I used to have. Today is about being grateful for where I am now and dreaming of the future. I am healthy. I am happy. And I am driven. All that I have done this year - all that I have gained (a serious love of running) and lost (my boobs) have brought me to this point. I have big plans and now is right on time!
